Forbes placed it in first position in the ranking of the 24 best destinations to visit in 2024. This is no small recognition for the Sardinia, a region appreciated by Italians, but not only. An island capable of attracting the most diverse travelers, as the prestigious American magazine well explained: both “beach lovers” and “gastronomy and history enthusiasts, because it is possible to explore the coastal villages, enjoy fine cuisine and indulge in rich local experiences. .”

Therefore, when it comes to Sardinia, what attracts star travelers is above all the sea, gastronomy and nature. But not only. Indeed, the rich offer of experiential tourism is also particularly appreciated, a sector on which the island strongly focuses. The project confirms it »We walk in Sardinia», promoted and created by the Department of Tourism of the Sardinia Region and dedicated to trails, pilgrimage destinations and villages to discover in a slow and sustainable way.

But if it is on foot that we discover new and little-known facets of Sardinia, it is undeniable that seaside tourism remains the preferred form of tourism for those who arrive on the island, especially if it is for the first time. From north to south, there are countless enchanting, award-winning beaches in Italy and around the world. Like, how Cala Mariolu in Baunei, on the eastern coast, in second place in the ranking The 50 most beautiful beaches in the world 2024written by a thousand of the world's leading travel professionals.

Southeast Sardinia and its wonders

One of the most emblematic bays of Sardinia is that of Porto Giuncohas Villasimius, along the southeast coast of the island (Cagliari is 45 kilometers away, or just under an hour by car). A long stretch of soft and very light sand, embellished with fragments of pink granite, which contrasts even more with the pale blue of the lagoon and the crystal clear sea. Green promontories surround it to serve as a natural defense against the winds.

It is in this corner of paradise, at the extreme south-eastern tip of Sardinia, that Pullman Almar Timi Ama Resort & Spa, elegant 5-star structure in the heart of the Capo Carbonara de Villasimius Marine Protected Area: 254 rooms, including 15 Junior Suites and 25 Suites, plus a Marine Spa, 4 restaurants and as many bars, outdoor swimming pool and private white sand beach .

From the bay, an Aragonese tower watches over 11 hectares of park, with its Mediterranean scrub. A true oasis for wildlife. It is here that every year, entire flocks of pink flamingos migrate to settle in the lagoon opposite.

Mediterranean scrubland, sand and sea: on vacation in the resort that tells the history of the island

But the big novelty of the 2024 season, at the Pullman Almar Timi Ama Resort & Spa, is the restyling of rooms inspired by Sardinia (the categories concerned are Prestige Suites, Junior Suites, Family Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Classic Rooms). A choice that allowed us to renovate the environments, favoring, on the one hand, the materials and colors found in the region and, on the other hand, the shapes and patterns typical of local crafts.

This is how today the elegant sobriety of beige contrasts with the more vibrant shades of turquoise and green (just like sand, in nature, contrasts with the colors of the Mediterranean scrub and the sea). And that the furniture, with the wall lights which recall the Corbule (typical Sardinian baskets, ed) with the patterns of cushions and headboards characteristic of Sardinian weaving, manage to enhance age-old traditions.

Thus, the resort is not a simple structure in which to stay but the mirror of a territory, with its history and culture. The ideal condition for an unforgettable experience, well beyond the holidays.
