Tornado at Trapani Birgi Airport: “There is damage to the structure”

A tornado hit Trapani Birgi airport last night. The strong wind, with gusts exceeding 150 km/h, tore away metal roofs, vertical panels, vehicles and even trees. The airport's Facebook page posted photos showing the damage. During these hours, Airgest maintainers work to ensure flight operations run smoothly. Alternative routes are being created to guarantee departures this morning. “We invite passengers to arrive at the terminal sufficiently in advance to compensate for possible delays due to damage to the airport and to respect the alternative routes of entry and exit from the terminal, defined to allow access in safely to the structure,” said Airgest president Salvatore Ombra.
