the Olympic rings of the Eiffel Tower revealed

The organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games unveiled the installation of the five Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower on Friday morning, less than 50 days before the opening ceremony of the summer games.

The red, green, blue, black and yellow circles, intertwined to represent the five continents, were erected last night between the first and second floors of the Iron Lady.

Each measuring 9 meters in diameter, the rings were made from recycled steel by Arcelor Mittal and will be on display on the Seine side until the end of the Paralympic Games on September 8.

Equipped with 100,000 energy-efficient LEDs, the circles will be lit in Olympic colors during the day and white at night.

The structure weighs a total of 30 tonnes and is more impressive than the one installed on Tower Bridge for the London Olympics.
