“Stop taking care of the bosses' children.” Threats against Palermo juvenile prosecutor Claudia Caramanna

“We must stop taking care of other people's children.” These are the threats addressed to the general prosecutor for minors of Palermo, Claudia Caramanna, who also follows the children of mafia bosses. The Republic of Palermo speaks today about the case. These threats were contained in a piece of paper with a cross left in a folder in the office. In those same hours, in the building of the Malaspina juvenile institution, some scenes from the film by Ricky Tognazzi and Simona Izzo dedicated to the judge Francesca Morvillo, wife of Giovanni Falcone and for 17 years deputy prosecutor for minors, before becoming a councilor at the Court of Appeal. For this reason, it was decided to strengthen the escort assigned to the prosecutor Caramanna.

Someone infiltrated and left the threatening letter

During the days of filming, prosecutor Caramanna had moved to another room, taking some files with her. In one of them, the threatening letter was left. The case, the newspaper reports, is currently being investigated by the Caltanissetta prosecutor's office, headed by Salvatore De Luca, who carried out a series of analyses on the sheet found on August 5 and entrusted to the Ris carabinieri. Other analyses were carried out at the time of the check, in the offices of the prosecutor's office. He is said not to have appreciated the “activity” of the Palermo prosecutor's office. In Sperone, a ghetto in Palermo, Caramanna and his deputies requested 50 measures after a maxi-blitz against drugs by the police. During the investigations, some hidden cameras showed children next to adults preparing doses of drugs or counting banknotes. And the prosecutor had personally visited the local priest, active in the fight against crime. This is not the first time that the prosecutor has received threats: a year and a half ago, his room at the public prosecutor's office was ransacked.
