It is here, in fact, that some of the most interesting exhibitions of the season take place and where you can experience emotions with ancient charm. Perfect for regenerating.

In the Amazon rainforest with Sébastien Salgado

On February 29, after stopovers in Rome and Milan, he opened the doors of Hall of Enchantments in Trieste Amazonthe major photographic exhibition of Sébastien Salgado, one of the greatest photographers of the 20th and 21st centuries (Riva Nazario Sauro 1, until October 13). The great Brazilian artist, celebrated around the world for his great attention to the environment and indigenous populations, takes visitors on a journey through more than 200 photos exciting in the Amazon rainforest, between its vegetation, its rivers, its mountains, the people who populate it and the sounds of nature.

A dazzling experience to immerse yourself, through images, not only in the culture of the people who inhabit this gigantic green lung but also to reflect on the need to preserve this territory which is today so threatened by deforestation, fires and global warming.

There is no shortage of video interviews with indigenous leaders – 12 groups immortalized by Salgado during his travels – while in the background plays an immersive audio track that brings to life the sounds of the rainforest, created especially for the exhibition of the famous French composer Jean-Michel Jarre.

From Van Gogh to Ligabue, a journey into the art of the past

Two great artists of the past are, however, the protagonists of as many exhibitions, organized by the municipality of Trieste in collaboration with Arthemisia, planned for Revoltella Museum (via Armando Diaz 27, until June 30, 2024). The first, Antonio Ligabue. The second, Vincent Van Gogh. Two artists different from each other but united by unhappy lives, full of pain and madness. Unparalleled geniuses who knew, in their desperate solitude, how to express their emotions through powerful and exciting painting.

The exhibition dedicated to Vincent Van Gogh at the Revoltella Museum is open until June 30

Certain particularities are not lacking in the exhibitions which, in themselves, are worth the detour. One above all, the portraits of Monsieur and Madame Ginoux (the owners of the Arlesian café frequented by Van Gogh, ed), created in 1890 by the Dutch painter and brought together here after a long period (one is generally kept at the Kröller-Müller Museum, where most of the fifty works on display come from, and the other at the National Gallery in Rome ). But for Antonio Ligabue, they are already worth the trip alone Carriage with horses and Swiss landscape (1956-1957), Self-portrait with red scarf (1952-1962)e Portrait of a Sailor (1939-1952).

However, it is at the stables of Miramare Castle, scheduled until June 16, Cosmos. The sailboat of knowledge. The exhibition, thanks to a spectacular and innovative scenography, tells how scientific knowledge was born and how it continues to stimulate researchers. Between one room and another, there is no shortage of incredible experiences, such as the one that allows you to float between galaxies or feel like you are on board a ship suitable for an important scientific expedition. Note, among the themes covered, that of Artificial Intelligence.
