Sharon Verzeni, Witness's Account of Final Moments After Stabbing: “That's How I Saw Her Collapse”

Almost no one was able to witness the death of Sharon Verzeni, the 33-year-old beautician stabbed to death on the night of 29-30 July in Terno d'Isola (Bergamo). Almost, because this evening on Tg1 a local resident spoke out for the first time, claiming to have seen, if not the moments of the murder, at least the last sighs of the poor woman shot by Moussa Sangaré. “I heard her cries for help,” the woman, who requested anonymity, tells Stefano Fumagalli. Once, twice. “Only the second time was a more painful lament.” It is late, almost one in the morning, but the woman has time – she says – to lean out of the window of her house. And to have a glimpse of the last moments of Sharon's life. “I saw the girl collapse on the ground. On her back, upside down.” The four stab wounds left her with no escape. Sharon “turned onto her side and stayed in that position. Then I saw the blood flowing,” the local resident concludes in the flashback.

The shocking confessions and the elements to be clarified

Shortly after, thanks also to the victim's phone call, help arrived and the investigation began. Which, after a month of fruitless searches, finally allowed the killer to be arrested, a 31-year-old man of Malian origin who then collapsed and confessed on the night of Thursday to Friday. During the confession interrogation, Sangaré said that she had killed Verzeni for no reason: it could have been her, the victim, like anyone else. But there are still many aspects that the 31-year-old man, now in prison, will have to clarify. Tomorrow morning at 9 am, during the first interrogation after the arrest, he will have to begin to shed light on the many gray areas that still remain.
