Today, another Triathlon is blocked, that of the 2024 Paralympic Games. The waters of the Seine are once again in the headlines and raising the nest of controversy between those who have always claimed that it was impossible to swim there and those who, on the contrary, certify that they are. the cleaning has worked.

In the meantime, they have been postponed until tomorrow, Monday, September 2. “The latest tests carried out on the Seine show a substantial drop in the quality of the river water, following the rainy episodes of the last two days. The water has therefore been deemed unfit for swimming,” read a note, at the end of the day. of a meeting between representatives of World Triathlon, Paris2024 and the relevant French authorities involved in monitoring the state of the Seine and the weather.

The 11 events scheduled for today have therefore been postponed to September 2. “Paris 2024 and World Triathlon remind that their priority is the health of the athletes and under these conditions, the Paratriathlon events cannot take place,” we can read in the press release.

The Italians participating in the triathlon will therefore also have to wait until tomorrow: Giovanni Achenza, Giuseppe Romele, Gianluca Valori, Veronica Yoko Pleban, Francesca Tarantello (guide Silvia Visaggi) and Anna Barbaro (guide Charlotte Bonin).
