Russia, fire near St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport. Temporary closure for safety reasons – Video

St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport was closed for a few minutes for security reasons. This was announced by the Russian air transport agency cited by Tass. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency then lifted activity restrictions and only three flights were diverted to other airports. Ria Novosti reports this. “At 6:22 p.m. Moscow time (4:22 p.m. in Italian, editor's note), temporary restrictions at St. Petersburg airport were lifted. During their validity (from 17:00 Moscow time), three flights were sent to alternative airports,” the statement said.

According to Baza, a Russian media close to the special services, the closure of arrivals and departures was decided due to a major fire in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg. RBC Ukraine provides more precise information, according to which the fire spread to a hangar near the airport, where an area of a thousand square meters caught fire. So far two people have been injured, but the causes of the fire are currently unknown.
