Second gold and fifth medal for Turin's Carlotta Gilli, 23, at the Paris Paralympic Games. The Italian swimmer won the silver medal in the 200m individual medley SM 13 for the American Olivia Chambers and the bronze for the Irish Roisin Ni Riain. Gilli had also won gold in this race at Tokyo 2021. And still in the field of swimming, third gold medal for Stefano Raimondi at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The Veronese of the Fiamme oro also won the 100 butterfly S10. The other Italian in the race, Riccardo Menciotti, finished fifth. “I knew I had to start strong, at one point I felt immobile. I told myself to give it my all and I did it. “Anyway, it was the last race and I had nothing to lose,” Carlotta Gilli told Rai. “It was tough, I knew that here in Paris it would be much tougher than in Tokyo. There are strong opponents, so I told myself that I shouldn't underestimate any opponent.”
