There is a new element in the story of the death of Alexei Navalny and it is added by Maria Pevchikh, director of the Russian dissident's Anti-Corruption Foundation: she confirmed that the opponent was going to be released as part of a prisoner exchange with the United States and Germany. . As part of the exchange, two American citizens detained in Russia were to be released in exchange for Vadim Krasikov, a former colonel in the Russian security service FSB, arrested in Germany for murder. The United States recently confirmed that it had sent Moscow a proposal to free Paul Whelan and Evan Gershkovich, both detained on espionage charges. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller is responsible for the confirmation, but he did not comment on Navalny's inclusion in the proposal. “We have repeatedly asked the Moscow authorities to release him and we believe that Vladimir Putin is responsible for his death,” he simply declared.

In a video, Pevchikh says the deal is in its final stages, after two years of negotiations. And that's not all: the agreement was already in the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin, delivered by Roman Abramovich. According to Pevchikh, Putin, however, decided to kill Navalny and then obtain the release of Krasikov along with another political prisoner. And now the dissident foundation is accusing the United States and Germany of failing to act. “They nodded with understanding, said it was right to help Navalny and political prisoners, shook hands and promised, but did nothing,” Pevchikh said.
