Lecco, the police who issued 100 fines on August 15: “So that the smartest learn how to park”

One hundred fines in one day. On August 15, to be precise. Two officers of the local police of Abbadia Lariana, in the province of Lecco, also had six illegally parked cars removed: more than their colleagues normally manage to do in a month of service. The mayor of the municipality, Roberto Azzoni, told the Quotidiano Nazionale: “A mid-August celebration of great work for the officers of our local police of Abbadia Lariana. On Thursday, August 15, the coastal town, as usual in summer and especially during the holidays, was besieged by thousands of visitors. Who chose it to spend a relaxing day between lake and mountains. The beaches of Abbadi are very popular, as are the trails and the Cenghen waterfall.”

The rules of barbecue

But with a problem. That is, the cunning people who, in order not to pay for parking and save themselves a walk, left their cars along the route. By obstructing traffic and blocking access to public and private spaces: “The two local police officers who remained on duty all day are commendable, having crisscrossed the town and its hamlets from one end to the other, issued about a hundred fines and had six vehicles removed that were prohibited from parking. The rules regarding barbecues on the beach were also respected. Fortunately, no serious critical problems were detected. We salute the continued commitment of the officers of the Abbadia local police command, always on the front line to maintain security and decorum in the municipal area.”
