Juventus qualified for the 2025 Club World Cup also thanks to Naples. The bitter retaliation against Neapolitan fans comes after the Champions League defeat against Barcelona, which forced the Neapolitans to say goodbye to their European ambitions for this season as well. On social media, FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated the Bianconeri in a video: “Congratulations and of course good luck to Juventus for qualifying for the new Fifa Mundial de Club in the United States in 2025.”
Because Juve qualified for the Club World Cup
With the elimination of Francesco Calzona's team from the Champions League, Juve manages to qualify for the new 32-team tournament format. Before playing Barcelona, Napoli were five points behind the Bianconeri in the rankings created by FIFA specifically to determine qualification for the Club World Cup. Napoli were 42, while Juve were 47. A gap that could only be closed if Napoli had qualified and won at least one match in the Champions League quarter-finals.
