Igor Tudor is very close to becoming the new coach of Lazio, just days after the sudden resignation of Maurizio Sarri as head of the club. The arrival of the Croatian coach, formerly of Verona and Olympique de Marseille, is only a question of details, writes the Ansa agency, after Tudor met the management of Lazio this evening. The deal will likely be finalized and announced, however, after Saturday's match against Frosinone, in which the Biancocelesti will be managed by Sarri's outgoing deputy Giovanni Martusciello. Before meeting his Tudors, Lazio president Claudio Lotito gave a crude interview to Tg1, in which he revealed all his doubts about Sarri's resignation: “Someone betrayed him,” he said. he declared, without wanting to go into detail about his suspicions. But his irritation with the team seemed evident when he spoke of “something that was creeping within the group.” With the team, the new coach, Lotito told Tg1, will have to know how to use “the carrot and the stick”.
