Casazza (Bergamo), 37-year-old Ukrainian beaten to death in front of a bar: one man arrested, another wanted

A 37-year-old man from Lviv in Ukraine was killed in Casazza (Bergamo) during a fight outside a bar last night. Mykola Ivasiuk, that's his name, had been living in the town in the Cavallina Valley for about ten years, where he died after being beaten by two people. An argument reportedly broke out between him and two customers of the restaurant on Via Nazionale, and the Ukrainian was violently hit on the head and fell to the ground. After the alarm was raised, 118 sent a medical vehicle and an ambulance to the scene: but nothing could be done for the 37-year-old.

Italian in custody, second man on the run

An Italian is in police custody, while another, a North African, writes the Corriere della SeraHe is wanted. A passing witness told the newspaper that he saw “a man on the ground, his face covered in blood and a man next to him, who told me to leave”. On the video surveillance images acquired by the Clusone police, Ivasiuk could be seen arguing with the two men and receiving a blow to the head. Then, while one of the two was still waiting for help, the second man fled. Once the force's forensic investigations were completed, the body of the thirty-seven-year-old was transferred to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo, where an autopsy will be performed.
