More than 100 children have been kidnapped from their school in Kuriga, northwest Nigeria, in another tragic armed attack on minors in the country. From what BBC, a criminal gang made up of dozens of armed men went into action around 8:30 this morning (local time), while students were in the common courtyard of Kuriga school. According to eyewitnesses, more than 100 people were forcibly taken away on motorbikes, all aged between 8 and 15, accompanied by a teacher. During the raid, a student was also shot dead and is now hospitalized at Birnin Gwari Hospital. Hundreds of people have been kidnapped by criminal gangs in Nigeria in recent years, although the scourge appears to be on the decline over the past 12 months.
