Director Paolo Taviani died this evening in Rome. He was 92 years old and was hospitalized at the Villa Pia clinic after a short illness. His wife Lina Nerli Taviani and his children Ermanno and Valentina accompanied him until the end. The secular funeral will take place on Monday March 4 from 10 a.m. at the Promotothèque du Capitole. His brother Vittorio, also a great director, died in April 2018. Together, the two brothers made a long series of great films, from their debut “A Man to Burn” in 1962 to “A Private Question” in 2017, through masterpieces. like “The Night of San Lorenzo” and “Caesar Must Die”.
