Sanremo, a truck hits two brothers as they were going to school: a 17-year-old dead, a 13-year-old very serious

This morning a tragic accident occurred in Bussana, a hamlet of Sanremo, in which a 17-year-old student lost his life after being hit by a truck that fled the scene of the accident. The boy was with his 13-year-old sister and they were walking along the wall, on a stretch of road without a sidewalk, when both were struck by the vehicle. The boy died instantly. However, the girl, due to numerous serious traumas, was transferred to the Pietra Ligure hospital and today is in a very serious condition.

The driver

The driver of the truck involved in the fatal accident that caused the death of the 17-year-old was arrested shortly after by authorities. Police were able to find the man thanks to descriptions of the truck provided by a witness. It was learned the driver had just made a delivery to a local business. During the police interview, the driver said he did not notice anything. The truck was impounded and the driver was taken to hospital for routine medical examinations.
