Rome, major kidnapping against a criminal clan of the Roma ethnic group: theft, money laundering and fraud on the elderly

From the early morning hours of today, March 21, the State Police and Financial Police began carrying out a maxi-seizure in Rome and its province. 1.8 million euros: this is the overall value, including assets, business structures and financial relationships, attributable to a clan of Roma origin. The criminal organization, based on blood ties, managed to enrich itself through activities ranging from crimes against public faith to crimes against property, including fraud. A catalog of crimes that includes home thefts, mostly carried out by the women of the group, in various locations across the country, scams against the elderly, particularly through online advertising platforms, recycling of vehicles and other criminal activities. The current seizure, in accordance with anti-mafia legislation, was made on a proposal made jointly by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Rome Police Commissioner.
