The event it is free and open to the public and will see the participation of coffee experts, important Italian roasters, owners of prestigious urban cafes, masters of espresso, personality of the intellectual world and is a candidate to become an extraordinary attractor of tourist interest.
What is it about? From “Nu bbèllu ccafè”, the occasion designed to celebrate Neapolitan coffee, part of Neapolitan culture and tradition. “Talking about coffee in Naples is talking about us – the mayor, Gaetano Manfredi, told the press – the meaning of coffee is sociality, culture, history, it's being together. The great value of Naples today is to be a great capital where people are together and this is important especially in a moment of great divisions, suffering and wars and coffee is also a moment of peace.“.
“Coffee, along with pizza, is one of the emblems of our city – said tourism advisor Teresa Armato – we want to ensure that our food and wine traditions become more and more tourist attractions because they come to Naples for many reasons and one of them is certainly eat and drink our delicacies“.
A scene located in the main courtyard of the Maschio Angioino, it will be a cultural fair where you can attend interviews, social initiatives, book presentations, moments of art and entertainment and exchanges with spectators and, throughout the duration of the event, the coffee will be offered free to the city.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy coffee in several versionsprepare it with the lever machine, guided by professional bartenders, and take part in short courses on the secrets of real Neapolitan coffee, always celebrated and told through music, theater and literature.
The initiative also intends to strengthen the candidacy of “Neapolitan and Italian coffee ritual” as UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
