“I hate all Jews.” Cecilia Parodi indicted for defamation and incitement to commit crimes after shocking video against Liliana Segre

The writer and activist Cecilia Parodi is being investigated in Milan for “incitement to commit crimes for reasons of racial, ethnic and religious discrimination” and for defamation aggravated by racial hatred. The opening of the case by the prosecutor's office follows a complaint filed by senator for life Liliana Segre herself. In fact, Parodi is said to have made anti-Semitic remarks against the witness Auschiwtz in a video on Instagram published in recent months. Then, responding to a comment from an Internet user, he aggravated the situation with his “absolute” proclamation: “I hate all Jews, I hate all Israelis, from the first to the last…”. Phrases that have now led the Milan prosecutor's office to also raise the hypothesis of incitement to commit crimes due to racial hatred, in addition to that of aggravated defamation.

The FdI's accusations and the suspect's profile

At the beginning of July, the members of the Brothers of Italy of the Extraordinary Commission to combat the phenomena of intolerance, racism, anti-Semitism and incitement to hatred and violence also took an interest in the case, which had pushed the matter to take on the “very serious anti-Semitic statements” of Cecilia Parodi. Lucio Malan, president of the FdI senators, had then stressed that the writer “would also be the guest of some initiatives of the youth of the Democratic Party”.
