Invited to the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin, to discuss the subject Mental health is a right of young people, promoted by the Acmos association and the Fedez Foundation, the influencer talks about his experience with illness and the consumption of psychotropic medications. “Mental health and physical health should go hand in hand, but mental health is not taken into account in this country,” the rapper said.

“Mental health ignores privilege”

“I was faced with a very rare pancreatic tumor and had to face death. Even though I am privileged, I had the worst experience with psychotropic drugs at that time. I even took seven and the doctor who gave them to me didn't understand that I was sick. I got to the point of stuttering,” Fedez confides to the boys and girls. “At that moment, I suddenly stopped taking them and went into an even more acute depression. However, my ignorance in matters of mental health is a phenomenon that affects everyone, regardless of privilege. There is no age or social distinction,” he continues. He does not deny that in the past he himself had ” ashamed” to talk about psychotropic drugs, but finding himself faced with suffering and death pushed him to approach the question with fewer filters: “I said to myself: what the hell is this? Am I “Whatever, if I can help someone, I will,” insists the rapper.
