The Friends of Talmone and Cala di Trana Committee filmed the scene and alerted the Port Authority and the Coast Guard, which has long denounced the lack of structures to delimit the bathing area on this beach and beyond. “Under the rock of Talmone beach there is a vast meadow of oceanic poseidonia, fundamental for the marine ecosystem and the fight against beach erosion,” Myriam Stelletti, a researcher at the University of Sassari and member of the Committee, explained to Ansa. “Last year, a French catamaran dropped anchor above the meadow and disembarked dozens of tourists. Since that episode, we have asked the Port Authority of La Maddalena to install a tarpaulin cable for bathing 200 meters away. We had received a positive opinion, but the Municipality of Palau rejected the request.”

The volleyball net, the barbecue, the DJ

THE Corriere della Sera he says that when the other swimmers arrived at the beach, they thought it was reserved for a private event. About ten people got off two canoes. Then they set up a volleyball net and a barbecue. While a DJ played music. Stelletti explains: “Barbecues are prohibited, sailing or stopping boats within 200 meters of the beach is prohibited, music is prohibited as well as beach volleyball and any other game.” The gazebos were so large that they did not allow other people to pass, even on the shore. Then the captain's patrol arrived. In 2023 in Cala Coticcio, in Caprera, tourists had landed with everything they needed to spend a day at the sea with all possible comforts in a protected area.
