Giovanni Barreca, the mason accused of killing his wife Antonella Salamone and their two sons Kevin (16 years old) and Emmanuel (5 years old) during the tragic Altavilla Milicia massacre, will undergo a psychiatric evaluation. This was decided today, March 1, by investigating judge Valeria Gioeli, who accepted the request of Giancarlo Barracato, Barreca's lawyer. The psychiatrist Alberto Caputo will carry out the evaluation which, according to what the Sicilian newspaper will benefit from the advice of the famous criminologist Roberta Bruzzone. In the meantime, investigators are also focusing on the surviving girl's cell phone, looking for evidence to define the role played by the 17-year-old girl during the massacre.
The “Brothers of God”
In recent days, Bruzzone had offered his interpretation of the case, writing on Facebook: “What happened in Altavilla Milicia was immediately clear to me and my hypotheses were confirmed since Giovanni Barreca's children also participated in the torture. A psychotic father who spread his word even within the family by making proselytes. Massimo Carandente and Sabrina Fina were present at the time of the massacre. What happened shows us the importance of being careful of these charlatans and gurus who pretend to be something they are not. »
These are the two friends of Barreca, known in the family as the “Brothers of God” (a name which perhaps alludes to an alleged sect of the same name), who suggested and then participated in the triple assassination, carried out to drive the devil out of the house. Bruzzone and Caputo are expected to meet the mason, imprisoned for weeks and who confessed to being a criminal, on March 6. Barreca continues to maintain that he exterminated his family, torturing and torturing his wife and two of his three children, to free their bodies from the devil. The third girl, aged 17, managed to escape the massacre.

Police found her sitting on the bed and in shock. But her role remains a mystery that she herself has done little to dispel. At first he said he had only witnessed the violence, but later claimed to have participated in it. Investigators are continuing their investigations by examining his cell phone. “Strange things have been happening in my family lately and the spiritual world has something to do with it. Now two brothers from God have come and are freeing my mother and my brother who have very bad demons in them”: this is one of the messages found on the device. But the young girl claims that it is her brother , Kevin, who wrote it.
The surveys
If the sender of the text remains unclear, it is certain that the young woman had the phone with her during this tragic night. But he made no appeal for help, quite the contrary: he had sent a photo of Kevin to one of his friends before he was killed. Also examined are the telephone numbers of Massimo Carandente and Sabrina Fina, who reject Barreca's accusations: according to them, they did not manipulate him to provoke his extermination, quite the contrary. “They claim to have entered and exited the Altavilla Milicia house several times and swear they are innocent. They have a different vision of what happened, which is why it is important that they present their thesis before the magistrates. This would be a further step to clarify who did what,” said their lawyer, Marco Rocca.
