Adele prepares for 'long break' from music: 'I want to focus on other creative projects'

Adele is saying goodbye to music, but only for a while. In an interview with German broadcaster ZDF, the British artist revealed that she wants to take some time for herself once all the tour dates are over: “I'm taking a long break, I'm going to dedicate myself to other creative projects.” Adele's latest album, titled 30was released three years ago now, in 2021. But since then, the British singer has not stopped at all, quite the contrary. From August 2 to 24, Adele will perform ten dates in Munich, before moving to the United States, where she will play at the Colosseum in Las Vegas for ten more concerts. Adele's “residencies”, as the series of concerts organized by artists in the same place are called, have continued since 2022 and have seen the singer perform at more than a hundred dates.

Return to Europe

The last time Adele played in Europe was in 2016. What convinced the British artist to return to the Old Continent was a rather tempting offer: the chance to perform in a temporary stadium created especially for her, with a combination of stands and standing areas that can accommodate 80,000 people per night. “A few months ago, I received a call about a series of summer shows. I was still very happy with my shows in Hyde Park in London and my residency in Las Vegas, so I had no other plans. However, I was too curious not to follow up and pursue this project,” Adele said in an interview with German television channel ZDF. She added: “I couldn't imagine a more wonderful way to spend my summer and to end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer.”

A new wait for fans
