Donald Trump mathematically secured the nomination. The former president had 1,075 delegates but after the mini super Tuesday he exceeded the fateful threshold of 1,215. From now on, he and Joe Biden are “presumptive candidates” awaiting an official consecration during the summer conventions of their parties. Trump won primaries in Georgia and Mississippi, while results from Washington and Hawaii are pending. But in Georgia, her former rival Nikki Haley, although she has withdrawn from the race, is at 15.4%, with more than 60,000 votes. The signal, according to analysts, that there remains a hard anti-Trump core among Republicans. And in swing states like Georgia, it could be decisive: In the Peach State, Joe Biden won in 2020 by fewer than 12,000 votes.
