Juliette Binoche is the only actress to have won awards in the three main European film festivals: in Venice with the Volpi Cup for “Three Colors – White Film” (1993) by Krzysztof Kieslowski; in Berlin with the Silver Bear for “The English Patient” by Anthony Minghella (1996), based on the novel of the same name by Canadian writer Michael Ondaatje, and in Cannes for “Certified Copy” (2010) by Abbas Kiarostami. In 1993, she also won the César for best actress.
