The Kremlin does not accept an international investigation into Navalny. “Unfounded and crude accusations from his wife against Putin”

The Kremlin considers as “unacceptable” the statement by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, on an independent international investigation into the death of Alexei Navalny. “We do not accept such requests at all. Especially those coming from Mr. Borrell,” said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. Peskov does not only judge the comments of Alexei Navalny's widow, Yulia Navalnaya, who declared yesterday in a video that Putin had killed her husband as “unfounded and gross accusations against the Russian head of state”. Meanwhile, authorities are refusing to return the dissident's body to his family for at least 14 more days. Navalny died – according to the official version – on Friday morning in the penal colony where he had been detained for months. Officially, the death was attributed to an embolism after a “walk” at 40 degrees below zero, but many people cast doubt on the version provided.
