Teramo, steel chain stretched between two trees on a private road: a 25-year-old motorcyclist died

Tragic accident in Bisenti, in the province of Teramo, where a 25-year-old boy died due to a steel chain placed between two trees at the edge of a private road. The victim was Damiano Bufo, originally from Castiglione Messer Raimondo and resident in Pineto, and he was riding motocross when he found the iron chain on his way. The cable had been placed to demarcate a private road and prevent access. The 25-year-old found himself against the chain, at neck height, and fell, seriously injured. His friends, who intervened immediately, called for help, but nothing could be done for the young man. The accident occurred on Sunday March 17 shortly after 4 p.m. Once arrived on site, the police carried out the first investigations and seized the motorcycle as well as the chain.

The surveys

The Teramo Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a file on the accident, but at the moment there are no suspects and the investigation into a road accident is ongoing. From what has been reconstructed so far by the police, it seems that it was the owner of the land who placed the chain to put an end to the repeated intrusions. However, this is an elderly person who died months ago. The 25-year-old, however, was in the area to train with six other friends with whom he was competing in regional motocross races. The mayor of Castiglione, Vincenzo D'Ercole, has already announced that municipal mourning will be proclaimed once the date of the funeral has been defined.
