The Italian fencing team will arrive at the Paris Olympic Games in great shape. The men's foil is also arithmetically qualified for the Games and the verdict came from coach Stefano Cerioni's team. The Olympic pass will mean “returning” to Paris this summer with the maximum number of athletes in the individual competition (three) but also obviously being on the starting line for the team competition.
The Olympic ticket for the Italian foilists comes immediately after the historic all-blue podium in the individual competition at the “Stade Pierre de Coubertin” (with gold Marini, silver Foconi, bronze Macchi and Bianchi).
Qualification for Paris 2024 was already mathematically certain for Italian women's foil, itself among the “top 4” of the World Cup. From now on, for the Italians, the objective will be to find themselves on the French platforms and win the various medals at stake. The challenge for gold begins here.
