Five people died when a private plane crashed near a highway in Nashville, Tennessee. The victims were all on board the plane which caught fire during the accident. A few minutes earlier, according to local police, the pilot had reported an engine and electrical system failure. He had also requested an emergency landing at Nashville's John C. Tune Airport, but crashed a few miles from the runway. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have opened an investigation into the accident.
