Miami, sells his villa at a discount for $79 million, then discovers the buyer is Jeff Bezos and sues the real estate agency

The negotiation for the sale of the very luxurious villa in Miami of Leo Kryss, founder of Tectoy, a Brazilian electronics and toy company, will end up in court. The entrepreneur reports CBSput the house up for sale for $85 million. The real estate agency he trusted, Douglas Elliman, insisted on convincing him to lower the price to €79 million. Kryss agreed, and it was only after the deal was closed that she discovered that the buyer of her Florida villa was Jeff Bezos, the American billionaire founder of Amazon.

Negotiation and complaint to the court

Following this discovery, the Brazilian tycoon decided to sue the real estate agency, accused of having omitted a rather important detail from the negotiation, namely the identity of the buyer, one of the richest men in the world. In 2014, the year Kryss bought the luxury villa in Florida, Jeff Bezos bought the neighboring house for $68 million. The founder of Tectoy then asked for clarification from Jay Parker, owner of the real estate agency, who denied the involvement of the founder of Amazon in the transaction. At this point, Kryss was convinced to apply the $6 million reduction and it was only after the negotiation was concluded that he discovered that the buyer was Bezos himself. The man then filed a lawsuit against the Douglas Elliman agency.

The villa

Leo Kryss' former mansion is located in Indian Creek, one of the most luxurious locations in Miami, Florida. The island on which the house is located is accessible only via a guarded bridge and is home to the homes of many celebrities, both American and otherwise. The house sold by the Brazilian tycoon, now owned by Jeff Bezos, has seven bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, a cellar, a library, a theater and a swimming pool.
