Foggia, tries to kiss a patient and advises her to have sex because of anxiety: doctor investigates for sexual assault

Banned from practicing the profession for six months. This is the sentence imposed on doctor Domenico Spada, 68, accused of sexual assault for forcing a woman to perform sexual acts after administering several doses of an anxiolytic to her. The events, immortalized by surveillance cameras, took place inside the Lucera medical clinic, in the province of Foggia. The investigation began after a complaint from a 35-year-old woman, lodged with the police on February 10, which resulted in the issuance of a security order signed by the Foggia investigating judge. About a month ago he wrote The Republic, the young woman presented herself at Doctor Spada's clinic in the grip of a panic attack: “I entered the room and I was left alone with Doctor Spada, he asked me what had happened and I told him that I was having a very severe seizure. anxiety. Then he asked me if I was single or married, and when I answered that I was single, he told me that my problem was because I wasn't having sex. »

Camera footage confirms story

Faced with this information, “I couldn’t speak,” he said. “Then I said, 'I didn't come here to take sex lessons.' At that point, the doctor – after telling the woman to “stay calm” – would have poured a few drops of, in all likelihood, an anxiolytic. “After a few minutes, I started to feel groggy,” she noted. While the doctor “kept saying I was in this state of anxiety because I wasn't having sex.” The young woman tries to run away, the doctor stops her and forces the woman to remain seated. Then he would approach her to kiss her first on the cheek and then try to kiss her on the lips. “I pushed him suddenly, got up and walked towards the door, he told me not to do that and that if my anxiety came back I would meet him at the doctor until evening”. Images from the establishment's surveillance cameras confirmed the victim's story.
