five-star pass for Edoardo Bonazzi

Edoardo Bonazzi obtained the Olympic card in target shooting, the fourth quota with five circles after those made by Danilo Dennis Sollazzo (10 meter rifle), Paolo Monna and Federico Nilo Maldini (10 meter pistol). There are currently 219 Italians qualified for Paris 2024 (110 men, 109 women) in 25 disciplines. On the stands of the Rio De Janeiro Military Shooting Sports Center, the 21-year-old from Novi Ligure obtained third place in the 10-meter air rifle, obtaining one of the Paris 2024 cards reserved for both best athletes no but qualified. In front of him were the Serbian Lazar Kovacevic and the Norwegian Jon-Hermann Hegg, already in possession of the Olympic card in the 3-position rifle and therefore not eligible to obtain another one.

“I'm really in heaven – said Bonazzi -. The race was really difficult and my opponents were all of the highest level. I felt a lot of pressure because I knew that the Paris card was at stake but I I tried to keep it aside from any emotional aspect that could affect me,” concluded the Piedmontese shooter.
