Fake video against surgeon symbol of Russian bombing of kyiv children's hospital

Following the bombing of the children's hospital in kyiv, several photographs circulated of a surgeon wearing a bloodied uniform, helping outside the facility hit by the Russian missile. The figure of this symbolic man was challenged by a video where an alleged Ukrainian policeman pours blood on a man who seems to resemble him. In no case are the faces of the two filmed clearly visible, but the stains suggest that it is the same surgeon. This is not at all the case and it is a hoax. There are those who doubt the different presence of blood, “spattered” on the upper part of the body but not on the pants, but there is an explanation.

For those in a hurry

  • Users are led to believe the man is the same surgeon from Children's Hospital in the bloody scrubs, even though they can't see his face.
  • The surgeon's build is different from that of the man shown in the video. The latter is much more refined.
  • The hair is not the same, it almost looks like she is wearing a wig.
  • The uniform is not the same, it lacks the obvious seams and pockets.
  • The real surgeon's pants are longer, the ones worn in the video are shorter.
  • The blood stains do not match those actually present on the surgeon's uniform.
  • The blood had not splashed on the surgeon, because it was his own.

Analyzes

Here is the text in Italian that accompanies the video:

The images of the children's hospital bombed by Ukrainian air defenses in kyiv were staged with red paint. What will Giorgia Meloni say about it?

Photographs of a surgeon from the Ukrainian hospital in Okhmatdyt, which were spread throughout the West, have been proven to be fake.

In the video, a Ukrainian policeman pours blood from a bag onto a doctor. These photographs were published by the world's largest media outlets.

After the first publication of the photos, many noticed the unusual color of the blood. The video that emerged confirmed the doubts about the fakeness of the images.

Based on this video, the sending of weapons to NATO countries was justified and Putin's barbarity was denounced. They are making fun of you.

He who seeks finds, the truth is not for everyone.

The post also reports the fake news of the bombing of the hospital by Ukrainian air defense, a story already analyzed in a previous article. Open fact checking.

The uniform is different

The uniform of the Ukrainian surgeon, known as Oleh Holubchenko, is different from that of the man seen from behind in the video. For example, there should be an obvious seam on the back (pictured on the left), which is completely missing in the video (right).

Additionally, Oleh Holubchenko's pants are longer (bottom left) than those worn by the man in the back.

The spots are not the same

Looking at the photos of Oleh Holubchenko, we notice that the spots on his back do not match those in the video.

Moreover, the pants are dirty in the video. In the photos of Oleh Holubchenko, not a single drop is visible while he is working his pants from the top.

The construction is different

The man in the film looks slimmer than the Ukrainian surgeon. Oleh Holubchenko, as shown in the photos on his Instagram profile, has a more robust build. The difference in the neck is obvious.

How it was stained with blood

From the various photos taken and circulated online, mostly collected on Google Drive, it appears that Oleh Holubchenko's pants are not as dirty as his lab coat. There are those who think that he has covered himself in blood, making it appear that it is that of an injured person, but in reality it is his own.

Looking at Oleh Holubchenko’s back, the blood appears to have spread from top to bottom. In one of the shots (the bottom left), the blood is thicker in some places. According to the colleague’s account in an interview, both of them were in the operating room at the exact moment the Russian missile fell. Once the situation in the room had stabilized, the two surgeons stitched up each other’s wounds before going out into the street to help each other. The blood was his.

Conclusions

The man shown from behind in the video circulating online is not Oleh Holubchenko, the surgeon at kyiv's children's hospital who became a symbol of Ukrainians after the Russian bombings.
