at 6 p.m. England-Italy, test for the Euro 2025 qualifiers

This evening at 6 p.m., the women's national football team faces England, the reigning European champion and fourth in the FIFA rankings. The match, scheduled at the “Nuevo Mirador” stadium in Algeiras, Spain, is broadcast live on Rai 2 and streaming on Rainews.it.

This is the second of two friendlies after Italy-Ireland on Friday night which ended 0-0, Sara Gama's final match with the national team. After the draw on March 5, the Italians will have to face the qualifications for the 2025 European Championships.

For coach Andrea Soncin, “this is another important test that will help us in the growth process. We will try to enter the field knowing that we can put our opponents in difficulty. I am sure that my team will play with courage and with the same attitude demonstrated during the end of year matches.”

Still for the Italian coach, “being able to present our game against anyone, as we did in the Nations League, is an aspect that must give the group confidence and security even against top opponents level”.

Among those called up is Barcelona's Giulia Dragoni, who, at 17, is the youngest in the team. “He will be a very important resource for the national team,” observes the coach. While the footballer emphasizes: “I continually try to learn from my older colleagues. I hope to bring my enthusiasm and I thank the coach for trusting me. England are a strong team, but we are not afraid or feel inferior to anyone.”
