Andrea Purgatori case: an expertise was ordered to find out the causes of death

The Court of Rome ordered, as part of the incident of evidence, an expertise to determine the causes of the death of the journalist Andrea Purgatori, who died last July. Four doctors are under investigation for manslaughter. The experts will have ninety days to conclude their investigations. In the questions asked to the specialists, they are also asked to provide details on the presence of metastases and to identify how and when the heart infection started. Today a hearing took place during which it was questioned whether the therapy offered to the journalist, and in particular radiotherapy, was appropriate or not. For the moment, the causes of death must be attributed to a heart infection, but only the incident of proof, and now the indicated expertise, will be able to confirm or refute the accuracy of the diagnosis of the person who carried out the scan and any possible medical errors.
