Lula, small brain hemorrhage after a fall in the bathroom

President will not attend BRICS summit in Russia

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva suffered a small brain hemorrhage in the back of his head after a fall in the toilets of the Palácio da Alvorada in Brasilia. This was stated by cardiologist Roberto Kalil when commenting on the decision to cancel the head of state's trip to the Brics summit, scheduled for tomorrow until October 24 in Russia. The doctor also stressed that, regardless of age, anyone who suffered a similar fall would receive the same treatment and have their trip abroad cancelled. Lula, 78, received at least five stitches for his wound. The president's condition is stable and he will be able to carry out his other activities, but he will remain under observation for the coming days. As his office explains, he will participate in the event via video conference.
