Itaca Project, major Italian cities lit up in green for World Health Day

The evening of October 10, 2024 the symbolic places of the cities of Italy lights up green: the color of mental health. A visible and powerful sign of proximity and sharing with patients, families and associations to build a more conscious and united society.

There are 18 Italian cities that have joined the awareness campaign “Going green on mental health»: BARI (Aldo Moro Square); BERGAMO (Porte Saint-Jacques); BOLOGNA (Podestà Palace); BRESCIA (Loggia Palace); CATANZARO LAMEZIE (Norman Castle of Nicastro, Cathedral); FLORENCE (Historic gates of Florence) GENOA (Piazza Ferrari Fountain) LECCE (Saint-Oronzo Square); MILAN (Palace of the Region, Palazzo Pirelli, Portanuova); CAMPOBASSO (City hall); NAPLES (Neptune Fountain); PADUA (Bell Tower – Town Hall); PALERMO (Massimo Theater, Politeama Theater); PARMA (City hall); ROME (Ministry of Health) RIMINI (Malatesta Fortress); TURIN (La Mole Antonelliana will light up on October 13); THEY LIVED (City Hall).

“Yesterday, October 10, on World Mental Health Day, we saw Italy lit up in green. The color, symbol of Mental Health, has been lit on the main buildings, squares and monuments of all the cities where our offices are present” – declares Felicia Giagnotti, president of the Fondazione Progetto Itaca. “An extraordinary participation which saw the participation of institutions, organizations, associations and the world of communication which, through radio, newspapers and television, forcefully placed the theme of mental well-being at the center of attention. We thank all those who have chosen to raise awareness in the Society of the importance of prevention and of concretely responding to the needs of people suffering from mental disorders and their families. What we witnessed yesterday is a great incentive for us and pushes us to continue vigorously on this path, in collaboration with political decision-makers at different levels, other patient and family associations, health professionals and the all citizens. We are very grateful to those who contributed to this extraordinary mobilization” – concludes Giagnotti.

Furthermore, in continuation of World Mental Health Day, Progetto Itaca reinforces its message and presents the tenth edition of “All crazy about RisOr”the national fundraising event to raise awareness about mental health. Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13 in good 18 Italian citiesand on Amazon, thanks to the partnership, opposite with a donation it will be possible to receive a packet of rice and help support the people and families that Progetto Itaca supports through its projects.
