Visibilia affair, investigation into CIG for Covid closed: Santanchè indicted for fraud

The Milan public prosecutor's office has closed the investigation into the Visibilia affair involving Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché. The hypothesis of the crime on which prosecutors are working is that of aggravated fraud against the INPS, concerning the irregular management of funds made available by the State during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic in Italy. According to investigators, the directors of Visibilia, including Santanché – who has no longer held positions in the company since 2022 – and his partner Kunz, were “aware” of the system, which provided for the dismissal request while the employees continued to work. The company, it is the prosecutors' hypothesis, requested the salary without the knowledge of 13 workers, from 2020 to 2022, then cashed the check, for a total of more than 126 thousand euros paid by the institution social security. In the investigation, in addition to Minister Santanchè and others, Visibilia Editore and Visibilia Concessionaria are also being investigated on the basis of the Law on Administrative Responsibility of Entities.
