The path of love, splendid path Between Riomaggiore And ManarolaIn Five landsreopens to the public after 12 years from Saturday July 27, 2024.
It was closed from 2012 due to a landslide. Today, after a long period of renovation work, it is now safe and accessible again.
The Via dell'Amore is a path overlooking the sea, over 900 meters long, set like a jewel in the rock of the cliff.
It is a symbolic place of Liguria in the world, one of the most beautiful, evocative and famous nationally and internationally, in the heart of the natural paradise of the Cinque Terre, declared in 1997. UNESCO World Heritage Siteand within the Cinque Terre National Park.

Via dell'Amore: opening times, information and ticket prices
From Saturday 27 July to Thursday 8 August 2024 inclusive, Via dell'Amore is open to the public exclusively for residents of Cinque Terre, Levanto, La Spezia, and for former residents and owners of second homes of the Municipality of Riomaggiore and their family members. From Friday August 9, 2024access to Via dell'Amore will also be possible for tourists (by reservation only and for a fee) with the presence of guides. Access will be limited to a maximum of 400 people per hour, divided into groups of 100 people every 15 minutes (at 00, 15, 30 and 45 minutes of each hour) from 9:30 to 18:30. Tourists will only enter from Riomaggiore towards Manarola, with a one-way route.

Visiting hours
From November 1st to March 31st: 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (last entry at 4:30 p.m.)
From April 1st to October 31st: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (last entry at 6:30 p.m.)
Limits for groups
• Maximum 30 people.
• Reservation up to 72 hours in advance.
• Prepayment.
• Access only during visiting hours.

For those staying in Riomaggiore
Tourists staying in the facilities of the Municipality of Riomaggiore in possession of the tourist resident card (Guest Card) and in the facilities benefiting from the CETS environmental quality label (European Charter for Sustainable Tourism) can access during visiting hours with reservation and entry from Riomaggiore.
Via dell'Amore: access for residents of the Cinque Terre
For residents of the Cinque Terre, former residents and owners of second homes in the Municipality of Riomaggiore and their family members: access is always permitted without reservation or ticket; possibility to travel the route in both directions without time restrictions.

The entrance to the Path of Love It can be purchased online and on siteexclusively as a supplement of € 10.00 applied to each type of Cinque Terre Card.

Via dell'Amore: how to get there
The Via dell'Amore is easily accessible on the train. Arriving from La Spezia and Levanto, you get off at RiomaggioreTo the left of the station, on the mountain side, there is a staircase which allows you to reach the start of the trail in two minutes on foot.
Via dell'Amore: secure
The path has been the subject of an intervention both complex and spectacular in terms of security and redevelopmentcreated by the Liguria Region, at the head of the structure of government commissioners against hydrogeological instabilityin collaboration with the Municipality of Riomaggiore and the Cinque Terre National Park, as well as with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape and the Port Authority.
The total investment was more than 23 million euros: the Liguria Region, the largest donor, allocated a total of 12 million euros, to which were added resources from the Ministry of Culture (6.9 million), the Environment (3 million) and Civil Protection (1.5 million).
The works necessary for the reopening of the Via dell'Amore, between Riomaggiore and the hamlet of Manarola, have proven effective complex and technically demanding, precisely because of the fragility of the natural context, dug into the rock between sky and sea, along a spectacular cliff.
