Rhiannan Iffland and Constantin Popovici won the Polignano a Mare leg of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, the international high-altitude diving championship.
Seven-time world champion Iffland scored 367.20, the Australian diver's second consecutive victory of the season.
In the men's race, reigning world champion Popovici won with 418.65 points. The Romanian athlete has recovered from a broken knee suffered during the last event in Boston.
The event, which took place in the stunning setting of the Puglian village perched on the sea, had moments of fear on Saturday when Russian diver Nikita Fedotov lost consciousness after entering the water incorrectly following a 27-metre jump.
The athlete was rushed to hospital, but was released after checks and decided not to take part in Sunday's race.
“I feel good. Obviously it's still hard and I'm in pain. It will take a few days but I'll be fit again soon,” Fedotov, 29, told ANSA. “It's a new dive and it's the hardest dive of the year. It was only the second competition I did it in, so it's always a challenge for me.”
