Galina Ryvchin, Israeli table tennis athlete at the Rome Masters explains: “I am happy to be here, this is my second World Championship, in 2018 I played in Las Vegas, I grew up in Ukraine, I have been playing table tennis since I was nine years old.”
For Ryvchin, the sporting event is also a hope for peace in the world: “Absolutely yes, tomorrow an Israeli player will play with an Iranian and they will shake hands. So yes, this is the ideal place to send a message of peace to the world.”
