After the defeats against England and Ireland and the draw against France, Lamaro and his teammates broke the ice by overcoming the Scots with a fluid and enveloping game. The Azzurri took the lead from the first minute on a free kick from Garbisi then conceded tries from Fagerson (5'), Steyn (7') and Schoeman (29'), the latter being the only one not to be transformed by Russell. For Italy, a try from Brex (14') transformed by Garbisi, then placed by the same kicker and Page-Relo which fixes the first half score at 22-16 for the British.

The “masterpiece” arrives in the second half where the Azzurri score a try from Lynagh (44') not converted by Garbisi, who then puts the 2 additional points on the score by Varney (56') for a 12-0 . performing this amounts to an overrun (28-22). In the 72nd minute, Garbisi is still on time (31-22). In the final, Skinner's converted Scottish try kept the match alive until the end: the Azzurri celebrated 31-29. Italy will close its Six Nations Tournament on Saturday March 16 in Wales.
