Russia attacks Ukraine with 90 missiles and 60 drones: “Zaporizhzhia dam hit, power plant at risk of blackout”

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with 90 missiles and 60 drones. President Volodymyr Zelensky made this known on Telegram. “The world sees with the greatest clarity the goals of Russian terrorists: power plants and energy supply lines, a hydroelectric dam, ordinary apartment buildings and even a trolleybus. Russia is at war with the lives of ordinary people,” Zelensky wrote. Electricity supply has been restored: “Russian missiles have no delays, as do aid programs for our country. Drones are not as indecisive as some politicians. It is important to understand the cost of delays and postponed decisions. »

The non-humans of Moscow

The president spoke about Western aid: “Patriot systems must protect Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia, and we need air defense to protect the population, infrastructure, homes and dams. Our partners know exactly what you need. They can definitely support us. We need these solutions. Life must be protected from these non-humans in Moscow. Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Pyotr Andryushchenko said that Russia had bombed the Dnipro River hydroelectric power station. Traffic on the bridge was blocked. A missile also reportedly hit a trolleybus full of workers: dozens of people were injured. Zaporizhzhia police chief Ivan Fedorov said on national television that “from 4 a.m. the Russians struck civilian infrastructure, causing a lot of damage.”

Zaporizhzhia Power Plant

Due to the Russian attack, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is on the verge of a power outage. The town's dam was also hit. According to kyiv atomic energy company Energoatom, the external overhead line connecting the plant to Ukraine's unified energy system has been disconnected. “Such a situation is extremely dangerous and threatens to cause an emergency. If the last line of communication with the power grid is cut, the plant will find itself in a new power outage,” said Petro Kotin, director of Energoatom.
