In two years, the Roman branch of “Crazy Pizza” of entrepreneur Flavio Briatore was fined 3,500 euros. The restaurant opened in 2022 on Via Veneto in Rome has accumulated several fines for minor irregularities, from illegal fake floral decorations on the facade, which do not comply with decoration rules, to incorrect waste disposal. The president of the 1st Commune Lorenza Bonaccorsi decided to convene the offices for today in order to examine the documentation on site and evaluate possible measures.

Fines from 2022

90 percent of the fines have been paid. For the outdoor floral installations alone, “Crazy Pizza” paid 211 euros. And yesterday another report was released. However, the 1st Commune has not yet sent the formal notice requesting the deletion of the composition. However, over the past two years, officers have not only challenged the fake ornaments on the sides of the three street-facing windows, but also found various irregularities. An example is the inclusion of the sale price in the menu, even though the regional law of 2006 prohibits charging extra for setting up the table for the diner's use. The police visit was triggered following a customer's complaint. Added to these findings was an inspection by the Local Health Authority which noted some anomalies, but did not consider it necessary to close the premises.

The line against non-compliant furniture

Some put maxi cones, others barrels, still others the simplest menu. But in recent weeks, the municipal administration of Rome Center has promised to crack down on non-standard furniture in commercial establishments that invade public spaces or occupy the walls of buildings. In particular, for Via Veneto, the municipality is considering a restyling plan based on stylistic uniformity with a start set at the beginning of 2025, while the works will be completed by summer. The first to criticize the kitsch decorations were the locals.
