The results of the road accident which occurred this morning before 8 a.m. on the A1 motorway near Piacenza are two dead, one seriously injured and five other less seriously injured. According to initial reconstructions, a car and at least two heavy goods vehicles collided, probably due to fog, at kilometer 56, along the northern route. Vehicles from the traffic police, firefighters and 118 responded to the scene. The impact on traffic was severe: the section of motorway between the junction with the A21 and the Lower Lodi area towards Milan was closed and traffic was diverted to other directions. According to Autostrade per l'Italia, vehicles coming from Bologna and heading towards Milan are advised to take the A1 towards Verona, then the A4 towards Milan.
