Mattel Introduces First Blind Barbie

A future new “Barbie Fashionista” in the name ofinclusion. This time it is one Blind Barbie, for which Mattel collaborated with the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB)an organization dedicated to creating a world of endless possibilities for blind and visually impaired people, to ensure that the doll's details (face shape, clothing, accessories, packaging and e-commerce communication) accurately represent blind or visually impaired people.

Blind Barbie is gifted of a red and white cane with the identifying rubber tip and wears a pair of sunglasses. Additionally, the doll's clothing consists of a pink satin blouse and a textured ruffled skirt, for tactile feedback. Even the packaging Special attention has been paid to the smallest details: it also features the word “Barbie” in Braille.
