A truly green week. In all directions. This third edition of Irish weekwhich regains its color Milan Emerald green. From March 10 to 17 the best of the island settles in Italy (for the first time too Rome will be involved in the celebrations organized by the Irish Embassy): music and dance, food, films and landscapes featured in photographic exhibitions and travel conferences.
A major event that culminates on the day of St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Celebrate by sipping a pint of Guinness and showing off the shamrock. It is now a tradition, even in Italy. There are more than 50 events (almost all free) in various locations around the city and more than 40 restaurants that will participate with a stylish menu. Irish.
The heart of the celebrations and the headquarters of the event will be Open Milan but also the very central one Rue Dante will be flooded with greenery, with the outdoor photographic exhibition Ireland on the road. And a work about Belfast will be created before the eyes of visitors, during a live performance by the famous Northern Irish artist. Adrian Margey.
Irish Week: events and workshops
Taste it soda breadtraditional Irish bread without yeast, learn a few words about Gaelic with exceptional teachers Aran Islandsweave it with straw threads Cross of Saint Bridget (patron and extraordinary female figure, in 2024 the 1500th anniversary of her death will be celebrated), dance an Irish dance, taste whiskey and travel (at least virtually) through wild and enchanting landscapes Wild Atlantic Way. We start with the open day Discover Ireland, on March 10, which opens the week: free access from morning to evening (11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.) to Open, where you can discover Ireland between stands, music and photos. Selected tour operators will be in attendance and there will be travel talks with experts and plenty of travel deals and discounts available only to those booking a stay during Ireland Week. With a lot of competition to win a round trip flight for two to the Emerald Isle.
But it will be the workshops and tastings that will provide the most authentic emotions. Be careful though: practical activities (almost all free) must be booked on the website irelandweek.it/experienceireland
Children will also have their time in the green: a series of workshops and a children's corner for drawing and playing are dedicated to them.
Irish music and dance in town
The party also continues outside of Open, with traditional music and dances. You might hear Irish rhythms and find yourself dancing Rue Dante and at the station Garibaldi Metroin the company of itinerant musicians and teachers ready to involve certain passers-by eager to learn.
L'Hard Rock Cafe will host a Cranberries tribute concert on Tuesday March 12 and, on Thursday March 14, a U2 tribute concert.

THE The spirit of Milan St. Patrick's Day weekend (March 15-17) The spirit of Irelanda real festival within a festival.
There is no shortage of the famous Irish pub Pogue Mahone's Pub which is organizing numerous initiatives for St. Patrick's Day, including a brunch with Irish dishes, live music from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and DJ sets from 10 p.m.
Taste of Ireland: Ireland Restaurant Week
A smoker Irish Stew to enjoy in winter. Perhaps the iconic – and most famous – dish of Irish cuisine is lamb stew with onions, potatoes, parsley and thyme cooked in beer. But Irish Week is a good opportunity to discover the other delights of a much broader gastronomic tradition. Ireland is a country where every county has a delightful story to tell. Alongside bacon and cabbage, another great classic, we discover cheeses, soda bread and smoked salmon, spicy sausages and even seaweed.
There are more than 40 restaurants involved throughout Italy who, on the occasion of Ireland Week, will offer tasting courses of the island's culinary excellence, in collaboration with the Italian headquarters of Bord Bia – Irish Food Board. Irish Film Festival at Cinema Anteo

Sports of Ireland: rugby, Gaelic football and golf
Ireland Week coincides with the final stage of Six Nations rugby tournamentwhich will be broadcast on the giant screens of the various pubs participating in the event on Saturday March 16.
And there is another noble Irish sporting tradition: the Gaelic footballwith a junior match and a senior match, taking place on March 16 atAS Rugby Milan.
Golf is also present, with the first two stages, on March 16 and 17, from Golf tournament in IrelandAt Molinetto Golf Club and others Brianza Golf Cluborganized in collaboration with I Viaggi di Seve, which will end in October 2024: the first prize for the winners will be a trip to Ireland to play on some of the most beautiful courses in the world.
