According to what emerges from the investigation, the 23-year-old young man posed as a priest by deceiving local priests and collecting donations from their parishioners. The false priest struck in Abruzzo, Basilicata, the province of Barletta, Andria, Trani and Bari. Seven attacks have been committed in his name, notably during the Covid-19 pandemic. The latest victim, reports Puglia Sera, is a priest from Canosa di Puglia to whom the 23-year-old presented himself as a parish priest from Taranto in need of help for a single mother. The colleague was deceived into giving him the sum of 7 thousand euros in March two years ago. Realizing that he had been defrauded, the Apulian priest then filed a complaint.
