Dr. Alicicco, Giallorossi team doctor for 23 years, has died

AS Roma mourns the death of Ernesto Alicicco. The Giallorossi club wrote this on social media. “Between 1978 and 2001 he took care of our champions, he will remain forever in our hearts,” reads Roma's message. The historic Giallorossi doctor would have turned 90 on November 7.

The FIGC and President Gabriele Gravina express their condolences on the death of Dr. Ernesto Alicicco. Alicicco, during his long career, held various positions within the Federation: medical administrator of the youth sector (1968-78), medical director of the women's national teams (1976-86), medical director of the women's national under-19 team (2004) and president of the medical commission of the youth and school sector (2006-08). Alicicco was director of the health services of AS Roma. “I share with great emotion the condolences on the death of Alicicco – declares FIGC President Gabriele Gravina – he was a serious and available professional, who over the years, as medical director of Roma, earned the respect of all the staff at work. A kind and true person, I shared with him two great passions: that of football and that of Abruzzo”.
